Effective today, all unmonitored and social private gatherings in Ontario, including in York Region, are limited to 10 people for indoor gatherings and 25 people outdoor gatherings for the next 28 days.
Organizers could face fines of $10,000 and guests fines of $750. Unmonitored and private social gatherings include functions, parties, dinners, gatherings, BBQs or wedding receptions held in private residences, backyards, parks and other recreational areas.

The Aurora Seniors’ Centre will reopen its doors on Monday, September 28 with limited capacity, modified programming and new safety protocols. Programs and activities will include fitness classes, art classes and more.

The SARC Pool will not open on Monday, September 14 as scheduled, due to mechanical problems. Swim opportunities are available at the AFLC Pool.
We are working to have the SARC Pool open as quickly as possible, but do not have a definite date at this time.

Central York Fire Services (CYFS) responded to a reported structure fire in the roof of a home.
On arrival, crews reported a working fire on the roof of the home. Initially, fire crews fought the fire defensively and then switched tactics to offensively.
