School Safety Reminders for Drivers

Please be aware of the following when dropping children off to school

  • A no stopping zone means you cannot stop your car or load/unload children in this area
  • A no parking zone means you cannot park in that area and wait for children
  • All fire routes are to be kept clear for firetrucks and ambulances
  • A school bus loading zone is designated for buses only and is intended to keep busses away from traffic

Join us as we take over Yonge Street in downtown Aurora for a night of dancing and great live music- all while enjoying the shops. Aurora Introduces Bag Tag Program

Town to start enforcement January 1, 2022


Starting this month, the Town of Aurora will be educating residents on the new Bag Tag program. Aurora residents can place up to three-bags or containers for pickup every other week on regularly scheduled collection days and any additional waste will require a bag tag, helping to further reduce the waste in our community.

Council approved the program in July. Aurora currently has the largest per-capita waste rate amongst York Region’s Northern Six municipalities...

Please be advised Yonge Street from Wellington Street to Mosley Street will be temporarily closed on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. (Sunday, September 19, 2021) for the Town's Saturday Night Fever event.
